Our accommodation in British Columbia

Located in a pretty bay on the uninhabited Hurst Island, 12 miles to the North of Port Hardy, Bill and Annie Weeks, happy owners of God's Pocket for more than 18 years, have accepted to welcome us exclusively in a comfortable family atmosphere. The ABYSS divers will be the only people on the island during the week of our reservation.

Bill and Annie are true nature lovers, committed ecologists, who never cease to inform their visitors of the beauty and fragility of the islets of the Queen Charlotte straits. Since their arrival on the island all of their infrastructure has been conceived to take into account the total respect of the environment: renewable energy and the systematic limitation and treatment of waste.

The resort consists of only 8 rooms divided into 2 typical style wood buildings, built on stilts, with a beautiful view of the bay. Each room has a private bathroom and toilet, storage and of course heating.

A club house is used to relax, show videos and socialise around a wood fire. Outside, the terrace has a hot spa bath and a seating area around the fire. The copious meals served in the dining room are prepared by Annie. In a very family style, these are mostly European and American. Breakfasts consist of pancakes, omelettes, tea, coffee, bread, cereals... Lunches and dinners consist of baked fish, seafood, a variety of vegetables and tasty desserts. Vegetarian meals can be prepared on request.
Please note: although water, tea and coffee are included, alcoholic drinks, soft drinks and "junk food" (chips, crackers...) are not available on site. It is possible to buy these during your stopover at Port Hardy.

Those wishing to take advantage of the available kayaks to explore the area, will observe a ballet of sea eagles, encounter otters or the sighting of orcas passing further out to sea.
With this fabulous environment, decor and family atmosphere, God's Pocket joins the small list of places known as "paradise on earth".
