Local information about British Columbia
Climate
The coastal region of British Columbia has a temperate ocean climate influenced by the Kuroshio current coming from the Pacific Ocean. Summers are humid yet mild, whereas winters are cool and dry, notably in the South. The average coastal temperature is 5° in January and 23° in July. The oceanic air masses, full of humidity, bring an abundance of rain, notably in winter. The best period for diving in this region is from May to November, with preference given to the end of September/beginning of October to take advantage of the marine life during the summer period while benefiting from the visibility and cooler waters of autumn.
