Our boat in the Eparses Islands

As an ex Canadian Coast Guard vessel built in 1966, The Indian Ocean Explorer II is a steel motor yacht entirely renovated in 2010 and set up specifically for dive expeditions. (Completion of Naval Shipyard conversion due for May 2010) 50 meters in length with a beam of 11 meters, she welcomes 25 passangers between 3 standard cabins, 8 deluxe cabins and 2 VIP staterooms, all air conditioned with private bathrooms.

The 3 Standard Cabins are located below the main deck at the stern of the vessel. These cabins are divided into 2 triple single cabins and 1 double single cabin. The cabins have a floor space of approximately 9m2 with wooden floors, are equipped with single beds (80X200cm and 80X180cm depending on the cabin), a wash basin and multiple cupboards. Standard cabins have spacious bathrooms with the toilet and washbasin area entirely tiled.

The 8 Deluxe Cabins are situated on the main deck towards the bow, divided into 6 twin cabins with single beds (75X200cm) and 2 double cabins (140X200cm) with a floor area of 10m2. Floors in beige tiger wood and walls in sandstone beige reinforce the contemporary feel of the cabins. Each bed has an individual bed head and reading light. Each cabin is equipped with a large commode, a cupboard and draws under the beds. The Deluxe cabins have a private bathroom with shower and vanity, entirely tiled, and of a floor space of 3m2.

The 2 VIP Cabins are situated on the upper deck. These cabins have been conceived to provide a level of comfort and quality for the passengers expecting a yachting experience completely upmarket. Wooden flooring, Persian rugs, beautiful windows and decoration in "brushed pearl". A cosy queen size bed with leather bed head (160X200cm), 2 commodes in exotic wood, a leather arm chair, and beautiful designer lighting to complement the feeling of luxury. In addition to the individual air conditioning, (separate from the main system) there is a mini bar, an LCD screen and a Blue Ray DVD player. The TV screen also permits access to the internet via the Immarsat system of the vessel. The en suite bathroom is beautifully decorated and tiled and includes a bubble jet bath of high quality. The toilet system is vacuum flush reducing the consumption of water. These cabins are available with a slight supplement to the normal cruise price (USD 630 / person).

Powered by 2X850hp motors and cruising at 11 knots there are also 4 generators aboard. A large saloon and dining area with bar, HD Screen with multimedia and home cinema, a sundeck, a shaded lounge deck and large deck area are all at your disposal. Water makers and water tankage of 20 000 litres. A large technical area is reserved for the stocking and preparation of all the dive material. 3 Semi-inflatable dive tenders each with a 75hp motor and depth sounder. 2x12m3 dive compressors, Nitrox membrane and oxygen booster, 2x90m3 storage tanks at 300bar, 8 sets of rental equipment, a 2 place hyperbaric chamber and also all the necessary equipment for rebreathers. Equipment for navigation and safety is optimal with Radar, GPS, Chart Plotter, Depth Sounder, VHF and SSB Radios, EPIRB, Satellite telephone, fax, internet with Wifi, 4 survival liferafts with beacons, oxygen therapy equipment. And at your service, 15 crew members to ensure your comfort and a memorable liveaboard experience.
