The diving at Duka Bay, Anda and Camiguin is suited to experienced divers holding a PADI Advanced Open Water or Level 2 certification, with 30 certified dives. The currents and depth of certain dives are factors that may occasionally make these dives more technical than usual. It is however possible for PADI Open Water divers to complete their PADI Advanced Open Water diver certificate during this safari (please consult us prior to safari).
The uniqueness of the Camiguin safari stems from the mixture of dive types: sloping drop offs, muck dives, drift dives along a 13 km wall, caves and crevasses dug into the reef. All the dives will allow you to discover many species amongst the 800 varieties of hard and soft coral and the 2500 varieties of coastal fish of which certain are very rare: glass catfish, dragon fish, leaf fish, mandarin fish and even pygmy seahorses.
As the name indicates, this spot is paradise! Famous for the large variety of soft and hard corals observed, this dive is an ancient crater starting at 3 meters and descending at the centre to 35 meters. Numerous canyons, overhangs and cavities provide refuge for moray eels, lion fish, sweetlips, scorpion fish and turtles.
Due to a number of fresh water exits on the slopes of this dive, this site is quite different. The exiting nutrients attract a myriad of small fishes, which in turn provide lunch for the pelagic. At 30 meters, black coral is abundant, as well as featherstars, gorgonians and sponges. It is not unusual too observe several green turtles and schools of batfish.
This beautiful site is situated in 20 meters of water and close to the coast. It consists of a large plateau covered by numerous species of sponges and hard coral. A multitude of small fishes, invertebrates and shell fishes reside there creating great pleasure for the divers, especially the lovers of photography.
A beautiful drift dive connecting 2 sites. Virgin consists of a 27 meter drop off covered by large sea fans and soft coral. Visibility is usually good and we often encounter some big pelagic. Bacong is characterised by the number of caves dug into the reef over time. According to recent reports it is noted that rare nudibranches are found in this region.
A beautiful vertical wall (like the majority of dive sites in Anda) which drops off to 30 meters this drift dive is generally done with the current where we are often accompanied by reef sharks and hump head parrot fishes. The wall is covered in muricella gorgonian which are particularly popular with the pygmy seahorse. A fantastic festival of life and colour.
This is a technical dive for experienced divers only due to a cave entry at 31 meters. A 15 meter long tunnel connects to a large opening of 8 meters in diameter where green turtles are regularly observed. On leaving this zone the walls of the tunnel are often covered with crabs and shrimps.
This small island near Camiguin has been classified an underwater sanctuary. An amazing variety of critters are found on this site including 7 species of clown fish and many types of nudibranches. Turtles, cardinal fish sweetlips and sting rays insure a permanent spectacle amongst sponges and black coral.
A more technical site due to current. The sloping reef is in covered by Acropora and coral roses where smaller fish life and nudibranches find their refuge. Sting rays and white tip reef sharks are also seen on this site.
This is a beautiful drift dive with lots of action and a forest of black coral in the background! Black and red groupers, long nosed emperors, turtles, schools of tuna, sweetlips and fusiliers, napoleons. Large coral heads are surrounded by purple and orange anthias.
