The idea behind our travels "Between Sea & Sky" is simple: diving of course, observation of astronomical events, but also an introduction to astronomy as a mini-conferences spread throughout the trip. A unique opportunity to combine astronomy and diving in the company of the astrophysicist Stéphanie Godier, and our tour guides and enthusiasts.
Passionate, Stéphanie shares her knowledge and will trigger your interest in the many facets of our universe. Whether from the beach to observe the stars or from the terrace of a restaurant to enjoy her presentations, Stéphanie adds to this Visayas safari with presentations and exchanges so that the Sky will have (almost) no secrets for you anymore. During this 2 week safari, the following subjects are talked about:
Introduction to planetary formations around stars (movie and slide show)
- Our Solar System
- Presentation of other star systems
Comments Identify constellations with a long range
laser, a telescope and maps
- Identify constellations and stars known to host planetary systems.
Conference on the moon and the lunar missions
- Comments (several nights possible in addition to the eclipse, with a minimum of 2
sessions: before the eclipse and during the eclipse)
- Slideshows on exoplanets
With the presence of the Moon, it is difficult to predict observations of deep sky. However, it is possible to observe some planets that are not too close to the Moon (Mars, Jupiter, Saturn).
